Lanzarote Media

Lanzarote has, in recent years, developed a large number of local media outlets that must be added to the delegations of regional and national radio and television stations and newspapers are on the island.

The major journals in the island are the daily Chronicles of Lanzarote, the weekly Lancelot and the free, weekly La Voz de Lanzarote. Lanzarote MediaMoreover, the autonomous province of Lanzarote has newspapers with local editions of Canarias. These publications are in addition to the digital newspapers Diario de Lanzarote.com and LanzaroteOpina.es.

The radio stations most often tend to offer the island a part of its content devoted to the local level, while connecting for the rest of the time with the greater Spanish radio. Thus, Lanzarote Radio broadcasts the programming of Cadena Cope.

Through Horizon radio waves arrives Punto Radio, while Lancelot Radio broadcasts the contents of Onda Cero to the island. Among the local stations are Augustin Acosta Radio, Radio or Music Cristal, Buzz FM, Radio Atlantis and Radio Altahay. There are also other stations broadcasting in English, such as Power FM and FM Lanzarote Holiday Stream.

The national broadcasters Radio Nacional de Espana and Cadena Ser incorporate local content; the signal is received from the autonomous radio channels like Radio ECCA, Canary Radio, Radio Canaries, the Autonomous and Radio.

At present, five local television stations broadcast in Lanzarote: Lancelot Television Archipelago Television, Channel (L) Lanzarote, Canal 9, and Las Arenas. Lanzarote Television recently converted into a tourist promotion channel with the name of Lanzarote Enjoy TV. The island has a delegation to the Television Canaria in the Spanish Canaries.
