Timanfaya Oven or Vulkan Grill

Cesar Manrique designed the Timanfaya Asador Oven, or Vulkan Grill, for the kitchen of Los Diablos Restaurant, located in the National Park of Timanfaya, Lanzarote. It works on grids, with a cleft in the ground several meters deep in an area of high geothermal and magmatic activity within the National Park of Timanfaya. The heat rises from the bowels of the earth, grilling the food placed on the grid. The process is an example of sustainable development.
