Tias

Tias is one of the seven municipalities of the Canary Island of Lanzarote and is situated in the southeastern part of the island. The eponymous main village has 5,319 inhabitants. The largest town is Puerto del Carmen. Tias is on the island of Lanzarote, the municipality with the highest proportion of foreigners, currently at 38.5 percent (as at November 2006). In the town of Tias you can find old colonial mansions, such as the Casa Pereyra.

Since 2002 there have been regular solo exhibitions of contemporary art, group and themed exhibitions, performances, readings and concerts by international and local artists. The El Taller de Arte is located near the village of Conil. In the vicinity of the Montana Rajada in Camino Barranco de Tegoyo there are project and exhibition spaces.
